Jacob Turns 6

On May 15th Jacob turned 6. I can't believe that Jacob is already 6. He had a fantastic birthday this year. When Jacob went to bed the night before his birthday he asked for breakfast in bed. That morning when he woke up he did get a fun breakfast but not in bed. He got out of bed well before he could get it. We did give him pancakes with a candle in it.

Jacob was able to bring a treat to school and was sung Happy Birthday too. He enjoyed that. One request that Jacob really wanted this year was to eat at Red Robin. We went as a family and ate dinner together. It was fun. Jacob especially loved being sung too.

Jacob and Rachel eating the ice cream that was brought to Jacob for his birthday at Red Robin.

After dinner we went back to the house for presents and cake. This year we got him some really fun presents. Rachel bought him this foam rocket that you shoot through that air, a bike horn and a game for his leapster. He was really excited to the bike horn. Rachel picked one out that looked like a trumpet and that was really loud.

From Grandpa and Grandma Heileson he got new pants and a crayola wonder coloring kit. He screamed when he loves that. He loves to draw. He will spend an hour or more each day coloring. You will see from the cake he picked.

From his Mom and Dad we bought him some left handed golf clubs. He loved them. We have actually signed him up with the Idaho Falls Junior Golf Club. He is able to golf all summer long for free.

From Grandpa and Grandma Fisher they gave him a gift card.

When he saw the gift card he got all excited and said that he was going to buy a new bike with the gift card. He said that he then wouldn't have to put his horn on his old bike. He has talked about a new red bike for a while now. We played along with using the gift card for a new bike. We then told him to close his eyes for his next gift. Watch the video and see.

He acutally started crying in the video. He was so excited to get the new bike. He had no idea. It was so fantastic to see how excited he got.

After presents we had cake. Jacob wanted a blue crayon because of how much he loves to draw. I was pretty impressed with how well it turned out.

On the side of the cake it says "because he loves to draw."
I love the next two pictures of Jacob with his cake. He is so cute laughing as well as holding up his six fingers.

After we had cake we got a knock at the door. When we opened it there stood Jacob's friend Mckenna. Now let me tell about Mckenna. Mckenna is 15 years old. Rachel is friends with her little sister Elise. Months ago I went over to pick Rachel up from Elise's Jacob came in the house. Well Mckenna invited him to come and play Mario cart with him. He had so much fun with her. Well after that he went and played Mario cart with her anytime that Rachel played with Elise. Mckenna would always say hi to Jacob at church as well. She tells him too to come over when ever he wants. If Jacob goes over and she doesn't have much time she will still sit down with him and play. Well Jacob loves her. He has said that he wants to marry her. It is funny. She is just a really nice girl from a great family who thinks Jacob is fun to play games with. Well she was at the door with a goft. I guess a month before Jacob mentioned when his birthday was. She then added the date to her phone. I guess that when she got home from school on his birthday she told her mom that she needed to get him something but didn't know what. She and her friends went to store and bought some things for him. She got him 5 really awesome looking matchbox cars ( lucky for us he didn't have them) and some big bags of candy. It was such a sweet gift. I still can't believe that she brought over a present. It was so nice of her.

Jacob had a wonderful birthday this year. Thank you all for thinking of him and for all those that called on his birthday. Thank you especially Dad for sending the e-card and calling all the way from Greece. You all make birthdays so memorable for my kids. Thank you all.

Mother's Day

Here is Mother's Day a few weeks late. Mother's day was wonderful this year. Friday before I went to Jacob's school for a Mom and me activity. It was so much fun. All the mom's sat at tables with table cloths on them and hand flowers that the kids had made. I was given a necklace from Jacob that he had made. The kids sang songs to us, told us about what they liked about their moms and we also were read survey's about their moms. The questions were things like how tall is your mom? Your mom weighs how much? Your moms favorite food is? It was so funny to hear all of the kids questions. We then watched a DVD of the whole year that their teacher put together with music. It was amazing. ( I will try to post it) We then ate cookies and milk. It was the sweetest thing. I wanted to cry because of how cute it was. I was so sad though because I forgot my camera and knew that if I went back to get it I would have missed a lot of it. I am so sad about not getting video or pictures of my sweet Jacob telling me things that he liked about me and singing adorable songs to me. After being in Jacob's class I would have actually been happy with just that. But nope that wasn't everything. Enoch took me out for a nice lunch and then on Sunday I was surprised with breakfast in bed. The kids got up extra early to make me pancakes, eggs, toast, chocolate milk that was so dark because of all the chocolate that the kids added to it. Yum. I was also given flowers. Very nice surprise. I rarely get flowers and I LOVED it (hint hint Enoch) The kids then gave me their gifts. I got a sports bra (I loved it because it was on my list of things i needed to get before my race in June), a bathroom scale (yes that is not the most thoughtful gift but man I loved it, Yah I know that I am weird). The best gift was my new purse and inside the purse were little gifts that my kids picked out. They all went shopping with their dad and bought something that they wanted to get. I picked everything out themselves. I got candy, alphabet letters for making cards, a fry cutter, a make tool kit, a white board calender. My kids new me to well and new of the things that I would love.

I really loved mother's day this year. I am so grateful for a wonderful family. I love being a mom to three of the best children.

Enoch took a picture of the kids before they brought me in my breakfast.

Kaelen had to carry this balloon around. He loves balls so much that he will hold on to the balloon or ball and never let go of them.

Kaelen was really hungry even though he had already ate. I had to feed him bites of food in between opening presents.

Surprise.

I love this picture because Kaelen was smiling at the camera while I looked at the presents in my purse.

Father and Son Camp Out

Every Mother's day weekend the men in our ward go for the father and son camp out. They go the weekend of Mother's day because it is the weekend closest to the 15th of May. The day the priesthood was restored. Jacob looks forward to it every year. This year it was freezing. They woke up to frost on them in the tent. Enoch was very prepared though and he and Jacob were warm all night. A man from our ward brought up his 4 wheeler and let the kids ride on it. Well of course they rode through the gigantic mud puddle. I guess that anybody that rode on it got really muddy. Jacob loved it. Nest year Kaelen gets to go with Enoch and Jacob. It will be fun for the boys to go camping and then Rachel and I to have a girls evening together.

Smile

Jacob watching some of the boys play basketball. Jacob loves to play with the deacons because he see's them all the time because of Enoch's calling in the scouts. (He is the scout master for those that don't remember)

Jacob was screaming so loud as they were heading through the lake of mud.

Trampoline

So our trampoline was set up over a month ago and we LOVE it. The kids play on it at least once a day. Kaelen will stand at the window and point out to it because he wants to go on it so bad. Rachel has gotten really good at doing hand spring on it. Buying the tramp has been the best thing. We are so happy to have it. Here are some pictures from Enoch setting it up and first getting on it. I had to be the first to try it out. Actually we set it up while the kids were at school and they came home to it set up. Surprise.

I love this picture of Enoch and Kaelen jumping on the trampoline together.

Here is a video of Kaelen and Enoch jumping on the trampoline.

While we set the tramp up Kaelen played in the large trampoline box.

Oh I love this picture.

Our New Bathroom

A few weeks ago I decided to redo our bathroom and bathroom cabinets. Rachael came over and helped me glaze the cabinets. They look so awesome. I was so scared at first to do them because I knew that if i ruined them I would be stuck with them. They turned out perfect. I also repainted the bathroom. It was a ragged brown color and now it is an awesome blue. I have my chocolate brown towels and am getting a chocolate brown shower curtain. The bathroom is not completely done either. I still have to put up another towel rack, buy new knobs for the cupboards and hang up the art on the wall. I am hoping in the next while to get it all done so I can then start on the master bath. These are pictures of Kaelen and I sanding the cupboards and then the after of the bathroom. Kaelen loves to help out and he loved sanding. Enjoy because I know I do.

Kaelen helping me sand the bathroom cupboards. If you look you can see the wall color before we painted.

He did a really good job helping me to sand them.

Before After

Picture of all the cabinets. In this picture the cabinets look really orange. They are actually more of a brown.

I will post new pictures once the bathroom is completely finished.

Happy Easter.. A Week Ago.

We had a really good Easter this year. On Friday before Easter we decorated Easter eggs together. It was really fun. The kids were very creative. On Saturday the Easter bunny came. We always have the Easter bunny come on Saturday. The Easter bunny filled the kids Easter baskets with Candy and we each got a movie. We got Wall-e, Bedtime stories, Nancy Drew, Dark Night and Transformers. Then Enoch and I bought the kids a spring/Easter gift. We bought them a trampoline. We have wanted one for years. The kids will go to friends houses or Grandpa and Grandma's house and always jump on their tramps. We finally bought one. It is a really nice one too. It came with netting around it. It will be nice for Kaelen. I don't have to worry about him trying to climb off or even fall off. The kids when they saw it screamed. They were very excited. It came in a very large box and we had a blanket over it so the kids wouldn't see it. Rachel said that she had thought that it was a piano bench. When I asked if she would have been happy with a piano bench she said that she would have been. She was very happy with the trampoline but would have loved a piano bench. Funny girl. She really is into piano. She is still very excited to practice and loves Thursdays because she has lessons.

On Saturday evening Annelise, Boyd and Mom and Dad Heileson came over for a wonderful Ham dinner. It was so good. We had ham, scallop potatoes, asparagus, salad and then for desert pecan pie. We had a lot of fun together.

Sunday the kids got new outfits. Rachel got a dress and Jacob got a shirt and tie with new pants. The kids looked cute together but I actually never took pictures of them together. Oops. In the evening we went over to Mom and Dad Heileson's for their annual Easter egg hunt. We all barbecued meat and had side dishes to eat. After wards we sent the kids on an Easter egg hunt. They all had 10 eggs to find in specific colors. They had a lot of fun. After wards the adults went and found their eggs. It was really fun. Joseph and Chuck hid them. We as always had fun running around finding eggs and trying to beat each other. This year the person with the most eggs got to pick the first prize and then the person with the next most and so on. We really enjoyed ourselves.

We had a really good Easter. We ended the Easter holiday with a spiritual Easter egg hunt. The kids went around looking for eggs and in each egg was a scripture and item to go with the scripture. Rachel and Jacob really enjoyed that and taking turns reading the scriptures. It was a good way to talk about our Savior and his death and Resurrection. The kids enjoyed talking about that. We hope that they thought of the real reason we celebrate Easter for a little bit instead of the Easter bunny.

This really has nothing to do with Easter but I love Kaelen sitting on the bench. He looks so big.

Jacob decorating eggs.

Rachel decorating her eggs.

Yummy food. I think he might have gotten more on himself than he got in his mouth.

Kaelen lookng at his basket. He got snack foods instead of chocolate. He did get a bunch of little suckers though. Mmm his favorite.

The kids getting their trampoline from Mom and Dad.

Very excited.

Kaelen had to see what everybody else got. He even had to try everybody elses candy.

Tired from an exciting morning.

Kaelen getting ready to look for his own eggs. We put three empty ones on the grass for him to play with. He was excited to find his "balls".

Rachel looking for her eggs.

Jacob finding some of his eggs.

Rachel, Jacob, Kaelen, Carter and Collin all sitting on the front steps after finding their eggs.

I love this picture of them all looking at their baskets and seeing what they got in their eggs. They all got candy and then money as well. A few eggs had quarters and dollars bills in them.

Kaelen once again looking so cute sitting.

And He's Off

Kaelen has started to walk. It is so exciting and sad because once they start walking they are no longer little babies. Kaelen took his first step months ago. He took it on February 24th, 2009. Since then he has just taken two or three steps here or there. Since his birthday and standing with his ball popper he has started to walk. It took him only 24hrs from getting his ball popper to walk. On Monday the 6th he started walking about 5 steps at a time. He would walk from one point to another. On Tuesday he walked across the room. If you place him across the room from a toy he will walk to the toy. Every time he walks he seems to get better at it. He will stop himself from falling at times. It is so cute to watch him walk. He still crawls everywhere too but it won't be long before he just wants to walk. He really hates wearing shoes and so it will be interesting to see when he decides that it isn't fun walking with out them.

He cannot stand up in the middle of the room yet. He has to be somewhere where he can pull himself up to standing and then he will walk. My good friend DeAun said that her son when he was a boy walked for about 3 months before he figured out out to stand up in the middle of the room. I think that we might be like that. He has not tried yet to stand up in the middle of the room. He still will just find something to pull himself up too.

Kaelen yesterday was carrying this stuffed dog that my parents bought for him around the house. He would hug it as he was walking. It was the cutest thing. I tried to get a video of it but he threw it down once I started filming. Oh well we will try again. We are so proud of him though. We all love just sitting around watching him walk. It is so fun.

Kaelen walking just a little bit. He is a little wobbily in this video.

In this video Kaelen walks across the room. I love how he will shuffle with his left foot. He does not have perfect balance yet to walk normal yet so he will step with the right foot and shuffle the left. So very cute.

It looks like Spring

Well you can always tell that it is spring because the snow is gone but also the neighborhood is full of kids playing outside. I love it as do my kids. I also love that my tulips are coming up and it just feels fresh outside. On Sunday in between General Conference Enoch took Jacob and Kaelen outside to play in the backyard. Kaelen played on the teeter-totter with Jacob, swing on the swings and went down the slide. Kaelen was squealing and having so much fun. He actually would go down the slide all by himself. It was the craziest thing. Enoch would put him at the top of the slide and then Kaelen would push himself down the slide and we would catch him at the bottom. I don't know many 12 month old's that can do that. It was so fun to watch.
