Running like CRAZY

Enoch and I are training for a marathon that we are running in June. We are running a relay. We are running from Logan, Utah to Park City, Utah. 178 miles. We are doing this with 10 other people. It's a 12 person team. I am excited especially since I have never run before in my life. I got a treadmill for Christmas and have been running on it every day. I am surprised at how well I am doing . I have a lot more hard work a head of me but I am happy with what I have done already. We have to continue to train because we can't back out of it. Our team is signed up and we don't have many replacements set up. Also it's been paid for and it's a lot of money to throw away. I have wanted to run a marathon and so in a sense I am doing it. I am excited to run, sleep and run again.

Here is the website as well as a video of the race.

See you all at the finish line.

Drinking From A Straw

Last week (Friday Feb 13th to be exact) Kaelen learned to drink from a straw. It is so funny to watch him because he has not yet perfected the swallowing part. He is really good at sucking but not swallowing. He just spits it out.

If you look closely you can see the water coming out of his mouth everywhere.

Another video of Kaelen drinking.

Today Jacob shared his juice box with Kaelen. He did a much better job drinking. He actually swallowed most of the juice.

Sharing a drink together.

Kaelen finally got impatient with Jacob and stole the juice box and drank it himself.

Jacob's First Time on Ski's

Jacob went skiing for the first time this last week. Tuesday evening we all went up to Kelly Canyon for Grandpa and Grandma Heileson's ward party. Jacob was able to try skiing. He LOVED it and did really well actually. We were so surprised as to how well he did. When we first got their they gave him his rentals for free which was awesome. The guys at the ski rental shop were so nice. They were all so excited to see if Jacob could actually ski. Jacob has a harder time skiing than most kids do but with practice we think that he will actually be able to do it. He can stand all by himself on his ski's. He just needs to really work on his balance.

Everybody helped with Jacob's skiing. Gregorie was a fantastic babysitter and watch Kaelen in the lodge for a while so I could go out and take pictures and video's of my kids skiing. Grandma, Grandpa and Aunt Rachael all took turns helping Jacob ski. It was so nice to have them their to help. Enoch also helped but eventually Rachel and him took off and went skiing on the bigger slopes. It was fun to hear Rachel come back and tell about her experience. She said that they went on the highest part of the hill to ski. She said that she was really scared but to help her not think about it she would sing a song in her head. She said that that really helped her get down the mountain fine.

Aunt Rachael helping Jacob ski. If you listen closely you can hear Jacob say that he wants to go over a jump. All night he would talk about going over jumps and skiing down the steep hills.

Two thumbs up for skiing.

This is a video of Enoch and Jacob skiing by. Rachel is following behind going over a bridge and jump.

I love this picture of Enoch and Rachel especially because a large snowflake fell in front of Enoch just as i took it. It looks like he has a patch on. Arrrg! He's a pirate.

Kaelen and Angelene in the lodge.

Jacob loved skiing so much that he never wanted to get off of the hill. He would get frustrated and mad and say that he quit but then when you mentioned going inside he would get mad and say that he wanted to keep skiing. He would have stayed outside all night if he had let him. When we were in the lodge he would constantly ask when he could go skiing again. When it was time for us to return his ski's and boots at the end he was mad and didn't want to return them. The guys from the ski rental place asked me as I walked in if he liked it. I told them to listen to Jacob outside yelling that he wasn't returning his things and that would be an idea of how he liked it. They told us to bring him back again. I definitely will if they will rent us ski's for free for him. (Just Kidding, kind of) The ski rental guys all really liked Jacob and thought that he was so cute.

I am so proud of both my kids. I love that Rachel is so good at skiing and that she and Enoch have something that they can do together. I am excited that Jacob can now go skiing with us now.

Yummy Candy

We have now caused many problems for us. We gave Kaelen a sucker the other day. What a big mistake. We got tons of blow pops for Valentine's Day and he saw us eating them so we gave him a taste. Well a taste went into him eating the whole sucker. Kaelen now gets really mad when he see's you eating a sucker and is not sharing. He will share with you though if you share with him.

Valentines Day

For Valentine's day this year we heat attacked the kids door and put candy on eat heart and then we gave them bathrobes. Here are some cute pictures of the kids in their bathrobes. Enoch and I went out for dinner and a movie. We had a nice Valentine's Day. Oh I also got a vacuum on Valentine's Day but that was not my valentine's present. Ours had broke a few days before and so we splurged and bought a really nice one. We read tons of consumer reports and bought one of the best vacuums on that. I love vacuuming my floors and Rachel will actually vacuum now. My carpets look brand new too. Okay now that my vacuum has nothing to do with Valentines day enjoy these pictures of the kids.

Skiing with Dad

Enoch and Rachel have had the opportunity to go skiing with Rachel's school twice in the last week and a half. The first time they went was February 5th and then again February 12th. They went on Thursday evening both times. They did night skiing at Kelly Canyon. They had so much fun together. Rachel loved spending time with her Dad, some friends from school and skiing. She has really improved in the last week. I am so glad that they got to do this together. I am also excited because Tuesday evening the 17 we are taking both Rachel and Jacob skiing. That should be fun especially because it will be Jacob's first time on ski's.

HAPPY 10th BIRTHDAY RACHEL!

For Rachel's Birthday she really wanted to go to Red Robins and eat. We invited the family to all come. It was really nice because everybody did come. When I asked her a week or more ago what she wanted to do this was one thing that she specifically asked to do. It was so good. I love the food and who can't resist the bottomless stake fries. Red Robin actually opened just after Christmas, so it was the first time going to the one here.

For your Birthday they bring out balloons and a sundae and sing a song to you. In this video I wish that I had moved over more so I could have seen her face better. She was embarrassed a little too.

Here is Rachel with her presents. Notice all of the Hannah Montana paper. She once again got again got a bunch of Hannah Montana gifts. She got the Hannah Montana Beach hut, a guitar that is like guitar hero but it is Hannah Montana songs. She also got new Hannah Montana boots that were really cute. She got three pairs of jeans which were much needed. She was excited to get them because she really wanted new jeans. Annelise and Boyd gave her this awesome necklace with bracelets and a journal with a matching pen. She also got a really pretty shirt and leggings (see last picture). She got money too from her Aunts and Uncles. She is so excited because she also got money from a friend for her birthday. She is saving the money up for something. She ins't sure what but is excited to have lots of money now.

For her cake we did ice cream come cupcakes. I didn't decorate them because the kids all got to decorate their own. For the adults we had a gluten free strawberry shortcake that was so yummy.

Jacob decorating his cupcake.

All the kids decorating their cupcakes.

Rachel in her new shirt (she wore it with jeans instead of leggings so she wouldn't be cold). She is also wearing her new necklace.

Thank you everybody got making this birthday special. Rachel loved her gifts, cards and phone calls. She felt really special on her birthday. After wards she said that it was the best birthday ever. She said that she loved it so much. So thank you all.

It's a Party

Rachel on January 30th had her friends birthday Party. It was so much fun. We did a movie theme party. I spent many hours the day before decorating the basement. I took Christmas lights and placed them allover downstairs. I strung them from the ceiling and put them on the entertainment center. Then hanging from the lights I hung stars. I also hung curtains between the family room and playroom downstairs. I added a red carpet (red table cloth) for them to walk on as they came downstairs and into the room. It looked so awesome. I also had a table set up with drinks in ice, carrots sticks and celery sticks in ranch dressing, chips, peanuts and pizza. I also made a really cool cake. I made a clapper cake that said "Take 10" on it. I loved how the place looked. I would have loved a party like this as a kid.

All the girls drew names out of a pile of 30 names or so and that was the character that they were to be in the movie they were making. Instead of watching a movie the girls were the actors/actresses in a movie they were going to make and then after they made the movie they would watch it. Some of the names they girls picked were: Pedro, Spiderman, Miley Cyrus, Cinderella, Jane (from Tarzan), Sleeping beauty, Cruella De'Vil, Nick Jonas, Elasta Girl. I don't remember what the other names were. Enoch and I had fun coming up with the characters names.

Jacob was the ninja well actually Nick Jonas and this was his outfit.

Rachel opening one of her presents. She got the Jonas Brothers newest CD in this picture. I have never seen somebody get more Hannah Montana stuff in my life. Her friends really know how much she loves Hannah Montana so all but three got her something Hannah Montana. The crazy thing was that she didn't get one duplicate. I was so impressed. She got everything from Miley babrie, Oliver doll (boy barbie), stuff for hair, books, purse that lights up, bath stuff, Hannah Montana journal and pen that sings. She loved everything. She was really spoiled from all of her friends.

The group of girls at her party and Jacob.

Rachel and her cake.

Ready to blow out the candles

Rachel's friends singing Happy Birthday to her.

The girls eating popcorn and watching the movies they made. The girls also did commercials and talk shows. The talk shows were about people with weird fears. Some of the fears were afraid of bubbles, paper, the color green, money, bunnies, food. It was fun to watch. All the girls seemed to have a fun time. At the end of the party when all the girls left they went home with a box of junior mints or junior carmels or Zours (movie theater size) and a package of microwave popcorn. We put them in a gift bag with a little note saying thanks for coming. Aftwerwards Rachel kept saying how much fun she had and that it was the best birthday ever. I enjoyed myself too especially because I left it mostly up to the girls to do stuff. I would come down once in a while to supervise and then ofcourse to film.
