Kaelen Turned 1

On Friday April 3rd Kaelen turned 1 years old. I can't believe that he is already 1. This last year has flown by. On his birthday we didn't do tons. Enoch went to Utah for general conference with the deacons (12- 13 year old boys), so we didn't celebrate his birthday on his birthday. I did buy him some balloons. He LOVED them. He played with them all the time and would continually say ball while doing his sign for it. I did take him to get weighed and my tiny little boy was 19lbs 10 oz and 30 inches long. I still can't believe how little he weighs. I am used to Jacob's 25lbs at a year. In the evening Rachel, Jacob and I took Kaelen to Toys r' us where the kids picked out Kaelen's birthday presents for him. We also went and ate pizza at Sam's club. Gotta love their pizza. Kaelen ate his first churro their and loved it.

When we got home from pizza and shopping the kids gave him a new bath toy. It is a basketball net for the bathtub. It came with three balls for it as well. Kaelen was so excited to get in the tub and play with his new toy. It didn't take him long to be a pro at throwing or placing the balls in the net. It is a fun toy and he loves it because he can say what it is.

We did get him presents though and a cake but we did all of that on Sunday. We had Grandpa and Grandma Heileson come over as well as the Blackburn's, Bowman's and Gregorie. We had a nice dinner and then gave Kaelen his presents and cake. He got some adorable outfits from his Heileson and Fisher Grandparents as well as Pj's from the rest of the family. From Rachel and Jacob he got this little tool kit that has a hammer and different shapes. You use the hammer to pound the shapes through their correct spots. They also got him a little play electric drill and camcorder. Kaelen was excited when he opened them. He actually didn't open them his brother and sister and cousins did but he was excited when he saw them. Enoch and I got him this little ball popper toy. It is the best toy ever because of the balls. Kaelen says ball all day long and so he loved it. One of the best parts about getting it was the box. There is this little baby on it and when he saw the little baby he got so excited. He climbed on top of the box and put his face right up to it. It was so cute. The other awesome thing about the toy is that Kaelen will stand at the ball popper for about ten minutes. It is so cute. I have said that I think that he will be walking in the next week because of it.

For Kaelen's cake I made a little blue block. He didn't destroy his cake like I thought that he would have. Instead he ate all of the frosting off of it and tried to push it off of his highchair tray onto the floor. The cake was a really good apple sauce spice cake (thank you Wendy for the recipe). Kaelen didn't really care for the cake though. I was hoping that he would rip the cake apart like Jacob did but he was a little more polite with it.

Not the best picture but you can see Kaelen playing with his balloons.

Reading a birthday card. He loved it. He was so excited to look at the front of it.

On his Birthday playing with one of his favorite toys. He loves his piano. Enoch says that we have a baby grand and this is Kaelen's baby grand.

Signing "ball" in the bath tub. Yes it is more but this is ball to him.

Kaelen's birthday cake.

I think that Kaelen in this picture is excited about the bow on the present and not the present itself. This was a present from Rachel and Jacob.

Excited about his new toys.

I love this picture. This is when he saw the baby on the box and got excited to see it. He climbed right on the box and played his head on the babies. He was so cute.

He was very excited to see what the balls would do when the toy was on.

I think that his cousins had a little more fun with the toy at first than he did. All the kids swarmed the toy and played with it.

Getting sung Happy Birthday to.

Kaelen with is cake. Touching it for the first time. Not too sure if he should.

Picking at his cake.

Yummy.

Eating his cake. Grandma was trying to steal a bite too.

Getting bluer.

Has to stop from eating and talk about balls.

He tried to push the cake off the tray so I took it away. He was so sad. I gave it back to him though and he was happy. Didn't try to push it off after that.

Hmmm. Tastes Good.

A little tired from all the frosting or maybe not feeling good from all the frosting.

Standing and play with with his ball popper. Look at how well he is standing. He has never stood that long before until he got this toy and now he will stand for 10 minutes for more at a time.

Watching Jacob play with his toy. Jacob loves to put his face to it and have the balls hit him.

Over all we had a wonderful birthday for Kaelen. We all really loved it. Thank you all for making it so wonderful. Thank you for the phone calls, the gifts and the Lopez's and Knechtel's for the awesome cards. You all made his birthday so special for us. Also thank you Rachael Blackburn for letting us celebrate both your birthday's together. I forgot to mention that at the beginning.

Say Cheese

We went and got Kaelen's one year pictures taken on Thursday. I thought that it was going to be a challenge at first. He didn't want to smile and he didn't want to sit. He was acting very shy. After taking about 5 pictures and deleting them he then started to cooperate a little more. I think that they turned out beautifully. The only thing that I wish is that I got pictures of him with a football or something. He LOVES balls and so it would have been nice to have a picture of him with one. Oh well. I have tons from my own camera so it's okay. I had a hard time picking pictures. They always make the pictures look so cute with the nice boarders, shading and color. These pictures were the originals that I got off line. I did get lots for everybody and I also got ones in black and white.

(Kaelen had a scratch on his nose that he got the day before. I was sad about it at first but oh well it makes him seem more like a little boy.)

I got this one in black and white. We have one of Rachel like this and next month when Jacob gets his pictures we'll make sure that he has one like this too.

We also got a large one of this. We cropped it more though. We have a picture of Rachel like this as well. This picture will go in our bedroom as well as Rachel's and next month Jacob's.

He was messing around and wouldn't do what they wanted. He kept putting his head through my legs and was playing peek-a-boo.

I love this picture. It would have been nice to have him smiling more but I love the way he looks.

I love these next set of pictures of him standing with me.

I love his little smile in this picture and how you can see he two little teeth.

I love how happy he is in this picture. Oh I think that he is so cute. Notice how hard he is holding to my leg. He was happy as long as I was right near by.

He is such a cute boy. I love him so much. These pictures make me want to hug him.

He is so cute up on all fours. This was the fifth or more picture of this. He kept crawling a way.

Isn't It Grand..

Last week my Mom and Dad came to visit and they brought me my piano. For the last few months my Dad and his friend Ed have spent many hours redoing a baby grand piano for me. They redid all the strings and tuned it for me. It is so beautiful. I love it. I love being in my living room now. The exterior of my piano is in amazing condition. I am so happy with it. It is such a wonderful gift that my Dad has given me. I did pay for it all but what a nice thing to have my Dad put so much work into it and then drive it over to Idaho from Missouri. I am excited too because my kids have started piano lessons already. Enoch has also become our official piano player in our family for Family Home Evening.

Piano in the back of the U-haul. Mom and Dad brought another piano that they sold while they were here.

Pulling the grand piano out of the truck. It was wrapped really well and on a sled that they carried it out on. We had 8 men from our ward come and help move it. It was hard for them to even move it with all of them. Glad we had that many. What a great ward we live in.

Bringing the piano in the garage door.

Uncovering the piano.

Me watching the piano. I wish that I had a better picture of me seeing it. I was so shocked to see it for the first time. After it was set up I would walk into the room and start screaming and getting so excited over it.

Moving the piano into position.

Watching them put it together.

Putting the pedals into place.

Rachel watching Grandpa put the pedal together.

Kaelen loves the piano and will go up to it and push on the keys.

Kaelen playing the piano.

Grandpa and Kaelen playing the piano together. Did you all know that Dad knows how to play the piano. He learned to read music as a kid and he can actually sit down and play hymns. I was shocked when I heard him playing and then really shocked when I knew that he could play for all the these years and non of us knew. Nice Dad.

Jacob enjoys playing the piano too. Rachel practices too everyday. I am so happy that my kids are going to learn to play the piano. Rachel is really excited to learn.

Our living room with the piano in it.
